Report by Phil Ranly - For 7 years, I have talked about the 4-corners run. The run traverses all corners of the Wissahickon park.
The Wissahickon Wanderers produced a lot of bright spots in an otherwise sad day at the Philadelphia Marathon on September 20. Wanderers excelled out in the field and at the water stop at the 18/22 mile mark.
On November 6, Mea, Floyd, Michael and Rachel completed the New York City Marathon. Below is their report:
Earlier this fall, Wanderers impressed at the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington on October 30. Polly Jansen and Chris Verry recorded personal bests out on the course…Chris finishing in 3:10, good for 357th place out of more than 20,000 runners; and Polly in 3:19:55 and the 85th woman.
It has been a six year wait, but a Wanderer has once again triumphed in a Pennsylvania marathon. Louis Secreto won the arduous Dam Full marathon in central Pennsylvania on Sunday in a time of 3:44:25, which was an excellent time considering the difficulty of the course.
