The Wanderers track meet is returning to the Roxborough High School track on August 25. (The rain date is the following week SEP 1.)

Thank you for participating in (and volunteering for!) the 2009 Wissahickon Trail Classic 10-K Run & 5-K Walk.

With more than 550 people registered, this year was a great success.

As if there aren’t enough races on the East Coast, I decided I needed a plane ticket and an Elvis costume to run my 8th marathon. With the astoundingly low price of airfare these days, who could resist the San Diego Rock-n-Roll? Add a few Elvis impersonators, the barefoot running guy, and the nut who plans on running 52 marathons in 52 weeks, what did I have to lose?

This past Sunday, Wanderers Erik Johnson and Susannah Grosso took on the 1st annual Rothrock Challenge, a just-added addition to the “Grand Slam” of Central PA trail events consisting of the Bald Eagle Megatransect, Hyner View Challenge, and the Dam Half/Full.

During back-to-back weekends late in May, several Wanderers kicked off the Triathlon season in two separate events.

“No it doesn't hurt. It's natural,” gleefully retort Gary and Sue Butts, directors of the North Carolina-based B.A.R.E. Butts A'runnin Race Enterprise heading this past weekend's clothing-optional Ruff Buff 7K pitted in the outskirts of the Pocono mountains at the Sunny Rest “naturist” resort.

It was May 2007 when Chris Moore ran his last ultra before finally succumbing to a nagging injury and taking a long break from running.  So it was fitting that his return to racing would be at that same race: the Highland Forest 1-2-3.

With the racing season getting busier and busier, look sharp out on the trails or on the roads with a Wanderers singlet. We have all sizes available in both men’s and women’s singlets.
